Molla Ahmad Mosque

Molla Ahmad Mosque - Nasir-ed-Din Gushtasib Mosque Molla Ahmad Mosque - Nasir-ed-Din Gushtasib Mosque Molla Ahmad Mosque - Nasir-ed-Din Gushtasib Mosque

The mosque belongs to the type of neighborhood mosques of Icherisheher.

A 2-line Arabic ribbon inscription on the upper part of the facade of the mosque provides information about the construction of the monument by the master (builder) Mahmud ibn Saad in 1300 by order of Nasir-ed-Din Gushtasib. The mosque is 4-angled in plan and consists of a small room. The asymmetric facade of the mosque, which is not very attractive from the outside, is completed with an entrance and 2 small windows added later. The mosque is popularly called the Molla Ahmed Mosque in honor of the akhund imam of the mosque, Molla Ahmed. It should be noted that in 1301 the fortress of the Nardaran village of Absheron and the minaret mosque of the Bibi Heybat village near Baku (end of the 13th century) were built by this master.
