Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Officer-in-Charge for Culture at UNESCO and Director of the World Heritage Centre, visited Icherisheher within the framework of the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (#WUF13).

During the tour held together with Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, the guests explored the #NumismaticsMuseum, #MuseumOfMiniatureBooks, Dastan traditional arts centre, Buxara karvansara and the Information Center serving local residents.

As part of the visit, information was presented on Icherisheher’s place on the #UNESCO World Heritage List, the ongoing efforts aimed at preserving and sustaining its historical and cultural heritage, as well as cooperation with the local community and artisans.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Shirvanshahs’ Palace Complex.
